Poodles and Pandas

I hate not being able to get a full body shot and having to take a couple of pictures just to show my outfit, but there isn't a lot I can do about that, so I shall have to continue.
This was my outfit on Thursday, it was just a usual day at sixth form and I went out afterwards as my boyfriend was getting a tattoo. (might stick a picture up of his tattoo at the end of this post)

I bought this dress ages ago from Primark and I was really happy with my purchase. It's quite short however, so I couldn't wear it with just tights, leggings are a must! It's a really nice style dress, it has small sleeves which are really cute, goes in at the waist and flairs out slightly at the skirt. I've actually heard someone mention they really like my dress before when I was in a restaurant. Stranger compliments are nice.

As I said leggings are a must with this dress, otherwise you risk your bottom being on show to the world! I thought I'd wear some shoes I don't wear often, because I seem to live in my docs, so I went for my converse. I do love converse and I've still got a pink pair from when I was 11, so I've loved them for a while, the only complaint I have, is that they rub on my feet quite a bit, so thick socks need to be worn with them.

This hat is so cute and matched my converse colour-wise, plus I wasn't having the best hair day that day either and the wind was ridiculous so it was very useful for keeping my hair out of my face.

This is my babes tattoo, the day it was done so still sore obviously. He loves it and so do it! Makes it ten times better that I drew it up for him and it was his birthday present from me!

In need of a change?

I've got to a point again where I'm just bored of everything, the way I look, my daily routine etc and I feel like something needs to happen, even something small. Usually when I feel like this, I'll change my hair style, get a piercing (a few months ago I got my nose pierced), but I actually can't afford to do anything, so I'm pretty stuck. Thinking about it, I am pretty unhappy with the way I look, for example my make-up. I've done my make-up pretty much the same way since I was about thirteen and recently it hasn't looked good and I've felt like I look like a greebo, haha. Maybe I need a style overhaul? Change until I'm happy with myself.

1Direction and Nandos Chicken.

Today is my best friend Danielle's 18th birthday, so yesterday myself, Danielle, Ciara and Emily went into Birmingham town centre and to Nandos for a meal together. We don't go out often as just the four of us and it was really nice. Good food, good company.

This is Danielle, she hates having her photo taken.

Anyway, we wanted to do something nice for her, so we came up with the idea of cupcakes! We bought cakes which were ready made, so that they would all be the same size, we made strawberry and chocolate butter cream and decorated the top of the cakes with that and Ciara bought 1 Direction sugar paper decorations online to put onto the cakes. Just to say, only Danielle is a 1D fan and the rest of us let her know daily how much of a loser she is.

We felt like idiots carrying these through town and into Nandos, but I think they turned out pretty well ! We were proud of them anyway. Me and Emily arrived at Nandos slightly before Danielle and Ciara to set up the cakes. We had bought a cupcake stand to put them on and it looked so cute!

We made sure the candles were lit for when Danielle got to the restaurant and from her reaction, I think she liked it. She took photos of each individual 1D member on the cakes, so my camera if now full of pictures of people I do not care for, but as long as she's happy. After Nandos, we went on a trip to get Danielle hair dye and then back to mine to chill and drink tea. It was a nice evening and Danielle is having a party tonight, which should be fab and I will be posting about that sometime during the week, as I have a busy weekend ahead of me! x

My bbys birthday.

I spent Wednesday and Thursday with my boyfriend Kyle, as it’s his birthday on Friday, but due to how arrangements have turned out, I will only see him briefly on his birthday. On Wednesday, we went into town after sixth form to look for a birthday present for my best friend Danielle, who’s birthday is on Saturday and managed to find her something, that I love myself, so I might have to keep it and she can accept life, aha, but while in town, Kyle was a darling and bought me a jumper and a set of three pairs of earrings.

I'm slightly moving away from my usual grunge style and I saw this jumper and fell in love so Kyle grabbed it and insisted on buying it for me, not complaining. I was going to buy the earrings myself, but Kyle was nice enough to pay for them too, what a babe. The jumper is crop, which is a big awkward during the winter, but with high-waisted trousers/shorts it will be fine and I did wear it with a top underneath and it looked fine. Very happy with it.

Both: Republic

After we’d been to town, we went back to my house, ordered a Chinese and just relaxed all night, watching television and chatting. We ended up being awake until 2am, despite having sixth form the next morning.

Thursday morning, we got up and ready and went to sixth form as usual. I went home, while Kyle had a few things to sort out and then he came to mine about six. During the day I’d gone into Sutton and bought a little chocolate birthday cake for him and some sweets, then he turned up at mine with a bag full of sweets and chocolate for us, so we just sat in my room all evening once again watching television and stuffing our faces, although there is still a lot left!

''London calling to the faraway towns''

After the disaster that was my Huddersfield interview, well I wouldn't say disaster...but lets say that anyway, I wasn't at all confident about my other interviews and I'm still considering not actually going to University anymore, but of course I wasn't going to no attend my other interviews.
Strangely, over the last few days, I was some what excited for my interview at UCA, Epsom. I think it was because I'd experienced one interview, so I knew what to expect.

The drive down to the university was quite nice, the traffic wasn't at all bad and it only took just over two and a half hours.

That isn't saying it wasn't slightly boring, so I thank god that I remembered to take a magazine. I've never really read ELLE before, but after reading it today, I've fell in love and will certainly be buying it next month. I adore the style of writing and an article in there by Annabel Brog actually helped me a lot today. She wrote about her experience in starting a new job and explained how you have to embrace the fear you have and not be scared of it, if that makes sense. I felt as though I was meant to read that article today.

Random photograph of myself, due to boredom .

The interview turned out to be a group one. There were seven of us in a room, with one of the lecturers from the course, we all explained what we are currently do, education wise, discussed what was included in our portfolio and which designers and magazines we were partial too and we then had to write up an outline of what we would write if we were given the opportunity to write in a column this week. I went for the 'drama' I've recently seen online about people such as Cher Lloyd wearing Doc Martens and Rihanna wearing creepers and said I would discuss whether this is really a bad thing, or a success for the items and how people who have wore these items for a long time feel about them becoming more mainstream.

I'm still undecided about university all together and I'm not really confident that I'll get an offer from UCA, but only time will tell. x

Pretty Please #1

Literally. Due to a complete lack of money, I can't go shopping at all for months, with two of my best friends birthdays coming up, as well am my boyfriends, a lot of money needs to be saved. Therefore, this post is purely to lust over the items I cannot afford and will never have.

So, my 'wish list' consists of these three items.
First a leather look skirt, I love the shape of this skirt, it's completely different to what I'd usually wear and that's why I want it so much.
Second a black velvet dress, I haven't been a fan of velvet until now, I think it gives a normal skater dress a complete new look and I think it's beautiful.
Finally, leather look leggings. Yes, leather look again. They're just a bit different from normal black leggings and can be worn casually and dressy.

If anyone wants to donate money, or buy me these things, just let me know. Haha x

Roll with it.

Today, I have my first university interview and it's an understatement to say I was nervous. I got up at 8 and left the house at 9, with a quick stop off at sixth form to pick up my Graphics book, just my luck that the teachers weren't in and I couldn't find my book, then me and my father just headed straight for Huddersfield.

As you can see the weather wasn't great. The further north we drove, the worse the weather got, typical. Plus, we were having trouble with the directions we got off the Internet, but luckily we made it there, an hour and a half early as well!

We went into the university at 1pm, with my interview being at 1:30, or so I thought. A group of about 25, including myself went into a lecture hall and listened to a brief talk about the subject, then were told to wait until we were called in. The interviewed two at a time and trust me to be one of the last. I think there were 4 girls left once I went for mine. It wasn't the best interview, I was really nervous and to be honest, the interviewer didn't seem interested in what I was saying at all, but I'm just looking at it like, I have two more interviews, which I'll be more prepared for now and I already have an offer from Sunderland, so that is my back up.

I wasn't in the best mood after the interview, I was actually really upset with how it had gone, but I'm feeling a lot better now and I'll just go with the flow and see where I end up. x

"Music doesn't hurt when it hits you"

Professor Green :  Alive Till I'm Dead
My love for Professor Green continues to grow always. This album is my go to album if I can't decide on what to listen too, because it puts me in a good mood and I have memories attached to this album. It's quite a gritty album, it's much more polished that his older stuff, but it's still real and not manufactured music. My favourite songs would be 'Jungle', 'oh my god' and 'city of gold', particularly Jungle, I just love the style of the song.

Glasvegas: Euphoric /// Heartbreak \\\
When I first listened to Glasvegas a few years ago, I didn't see the appeal. I don't know why, but about a year ago, I heard of them again, listened to some songs and fell in love immediately. 'Shine like stars' is probably my favourite song from the album. It's just a really up beat song ''I feel forwards is the only way'' and it just makes me feel better and want to go out and do something, not long about I was tempted to get some of the lyrics of the song tattooed and if I still want to when I'm 18, I shall. I feel as though this album is very personal, particularly songs like 'I feel wrong'

You Me At Six : Sinners Never Sleep
I have been a fan of You Me At Six since about 2007 when they were playing songs like The Rumour and Save it for the bedroom. Each album they've released, I haven't been disappointed and Sinners never sleep was no different. My favourite songs being 'Reckless' and 'This is the first thing'. I love the album because the songs are different enough to suit different moods, this album has been one of my most played during the last few months.

Honour Over Glory

One of my new favourite tops and a outfit of the day post.

Another top that I've been after for a stupid amount of time, was an Honour Over Glory boobtube. Whenever I thought about getting one, I didn't have the money, so I got this for Christmas.

They have this boobtube in white, black, burgundy and navy blue, I nearly purchased the burgundy, but decided on white, as it means I will be able to wear it with more colours. I got it in small and it is slightly tight around my stomach :( but I don't think it would look good baggy, plus I don't have big enough boobs to wear a medium. Overall the fit is quite good and although it's a boobtube, I'll still be wearing in during Winter/Spring, because providing you layer, you can wear pretty much anything!

This outfit was just to go round to a mates house for a bit of a gathering, so quite casual.
The shorts are H&M black jeans, which I cut into shorts, the tights are from George at ASDA and of course, my trusty Doc Martens.

To actually be able to brave the cold, I wore a grey zip-up jacket and leather jacket as well. I did find that the top fell down slightly, but that's probably down to me dancing a bit too much, so for day wear this top should be  fine. I wouldn't wear a necklace with a top like this, I think with the 'neckline' the way it is, you need to keep it simple for it too look best. x

Join the doll cult

I don't think anyone understands how exicted I was when I saw this on my desk when I got home today. I ordered it at the start of December as a Christmas present from my mother to myself and due to it being from America, I took it's time getting here, which is to be expected. I was starting to think it would never turn up though.

I've wanted this top for so long now, as soon as I saw it on NikkiLipstick and I knew I had to have it one day! The top is available in black and white, cropped or uncropped. I bought the white, because I'm always in dark clothing, so thought I'd be a bit of a daredevil with a white top! I also bought it as cropped, but that's just because I forgot to change the listing to uncropped, ah well. It's still long enough to cover me when I'm wearing my high-waisted shorts, which I practically live in, so all is fine.

I may have got a bit excited and took too many pictures...

I'm definitely more interested in finding clothes online now, rather than wearing typical high-street clothes. My three favourite purchases lately have been from online sellers! x

''There's a party at a rich dude's house''

Well, not quite, but there was a party of my best friends house.
Her parents are brilliant and there a few parties in their household each year and no matter what the party is for, the usual crowd are always invited.

There isn't much to say really, just a typical party. Lots of alcohol, cigarettes and dancing.
I'm just really happy I got to start the new year with some of my closest friends and my boyfriend.

I wish the pictures were better though, I look terrible in all of them!
I'm wearing a polka-dot dress from Republic, plaited belt from Forever21 and although you can't see them, stockings from Primark and black lace heels from Dorothy Perkins

New year, old clothes.

Today was a lazy day, I just wanted to stay in bed all day with my boyfriend, sadly he had to go to work at 11:30, so  I got my ass out of bed once he'd left. I didn't actually get dressed until about 4 in the afternoon, because I wasn't going out, but by 4 I felt like a tramp so got ready anyway.

Again, this was a very simple outfit, which consisted of Leopard print leggings, which I got from a shop via ebay and a black polo shirt, of which I just found in the clean washing pile and decided to claim it as my own. I adore the leggings, they're something different from you're average black leggings and they just make the whole outfit.

And of course, I wore my beautiful doc martens because they're fabulous and the black went with my top. It's a comfortable outfit for when you're just sitting around the house all day. x

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner, worth the price?

I have been wearing Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Eyeliner since I first starting wearing eyeliner when I was 12/13, I've experimented with other liquid eyeliners, but always found that I prefer Collection 2000. However, for Christmas this year, I got a Maybelline Gel Eyeliner, I had seen it in shops, but due to the £8 price tag, I've never really considered using it, because how much better than liquid eyeliner can it really be?

In my personal opinion, it's not better than liquid eyeliner, well that's what I think after using it once, maybe I'm not used to it and haven't got a technique yet, but right now, my heart is still with liquid eyeliner.

It doesn't appear to look much different to liquid eyeliner. I would imagine gel liner is less likely to 'crack' as some people notice with liquid, which is of course a plus and I'm sure some people would find the brush you get with gel much easier to handle and use. I'm not saying gel liner is a bad product, however with the £8 price tag, I don't think it's worth the money. I found it quite difficult to get both my eyes looking even, although that could be due to the terrible lighting in my bedroom and I had to put quite a lot on to get it looking black and even now I don't think it looks dark enough.

It's purely down to personal opinion, as I know my sister is a fan of gel liner and prefers it too liquid. I would just rather pay £3 for liquid eyeliner, which may I add seems to last forever and I find much easier to apply! x
