Ice cream, in winter?

These colours are the fifth and sixth that I've bought of MUA nail varnish and they are both gorgeous! I've needed a good purple nail varnish for so long and the mint one was just a colour that caught my eye. MUA Nail Varnish is great value for money, at £1 each and considering the price, good quality.

Pistachio Ice Cream and Deepest Purple

Sorry for the rubbish painting!

The one problem I have with MUA is that the brushes can sometimes be quite difficult to use. The bristles, I've noticed often separate, but that isn't the case with every pot of MUA I have, but I'd say for half. Other than that, I can't complain.
I think these polishes would be a great idea as stocking fillers, so I'm going to be picking some more up!

What do you think of MUA polishes?

Ten gifts for £10 or under

I adore Christmas and I'm more excited for it this year than usual, the only downside being that I am far too poor to actually be able to spend a decent amount of money on people and I assume a lot of other people are in the same situation as me.
Because of that, I decided to create this 'Ten gifts for £10 or under', to help out anyone on a budget, struggling to think of what to get people.

WIP #17: Kiss me hard before you go

It's been an eventful week, filled with house hunting, work and my friends coming from Birmingham for the weekend. Me and four friends put a deposit on a house for next year, I managed to get a decent amount of work done and I spent a lot of the weekend pretty drunk.

1. Tea after house hunting. 2. Decorating with candy canes. 3. Panda Hat
 4. Midnight cereal. 5. OOFD. 6. HK Advent calendar and candy canes.
 7. Greed. 8. Reviewing Skyfall. 9. More greed.
10. Nikki Lipstick. 11. Favourite hat. 12. Nandos.

Rock N Rose

I heard about Pixie Lott doing jewellery collection for Rock n Rose, immediately I was interested. I really liked some of the clothes in her range at Lipsy, so I was expecting good things from her jewellery.

It's a 24 piece collection, which seems to be inspired by the 60/70s era.
From cat-ear headbands to layered cross necklaces, there is something for everyone.

These are my favourite pieces from the collection. now although I love them, I couldn't even comprehend spending £55 on a flower headband, however the rings being £18/21 and the necklace £29, they're much more reasonable prices.
What do you think of the collection, will you be adding any of it to your Christmas list?

Aveeno Moisturising Lotion

I don't know about anyone else, but when I saw free samples in magazines, I would discard them without even thinking or just throw them in a draw to 'use a later date', that I never got round to doing.
Well I decided yesterday that I'm going to try and actually use them, because I never know what gems I could end up finding.

The first of my free samples is Aveeno Moisturising Lotion, a brand I've never actually heard of before. I looked on their website and they're very passionate about using natural ingredients in their skincare products, which is always good!

This 10ml sachet was enough to cover my arms and legs, buying a bottle of it I imagine would last for a fair amount of time. For a 300ml bottle in Superdrug, it costs £7.15.

Being honest of course, I wouldn't actually recommend this product. I would rather post about things I love, but I think it's good to warn people away from certain items as well. Now, there is no saying it will be the same on someone elses skin, however I was left with a greasy feel to my skin for a few hours after applying this and it just wasn't nice at all. My skin doesn't feel any nicer than it did before applying it, but maybe it takes more than one application. I also think £7.15 is quite a lot of moisturiser, especially when I get better results from cheaper ones. I think I'll be sticking to my Johnsons moisturiser until I find something better (if I do).

WIP #16: Run, run away

My brace broke last Sunday, so it was the perfect opportunity to go back to Birmingham; to get it fixed and see everyone! I was really homesick last weekend, so going home for a few days did me good. Had lunch with my friends and spent a night drinking with the group. Decided to stretch my ear again, even though my father will disown me and Xmas has officially started in my kitchen..thanks to me decorating it.

I honestly don't know how I'd cope with my false eyelashes. It started by wearing them for parties, then I decided to wear them a bit more often, no it's an everyday thing and I can't leave the house without them on. Eyelashes are quite an expensive thing when wearing them everyday, with Superdrug selling their cheapest pair at the price of £2.75, with the most expensive being £11.99, if I had to pay those prices, I'd probably try and brave the world without falsies.

Luckily, I found a website that offers prices that I can only love. T-mart.

They offer a whole range of items, so definitely check it out, but of course I wanted false lashes. I've bought from them before, last Christmas I got my first bulk set of lashes, which I still haven't managed to get through, but I thought I'd treat myself to some more anyway.

This set is of five different styles of lashes, ten pairs of each for $5.98!

Ranging from everyday natural look, to full, thick and glamorous.

The only problem I've had with these is that the packaging was slightly battered when I got it, however I can't blame the company for that, because it could have happened in transport.

I'd recommend them to anyone who wears false lashes, they will save you so much money and although shipping can take a couple of weeks, it's worth it!

Music now is quite amazing

Okay, so I don't often post about musicians, I think I've done two posts about music before, but there is something about this band that really gets to me. I think considering my recent relationship situation and one of their albums being focused on a break up, I was really able to relate to it, but that doesn't mean that you can't just enjoy the music anyway.

The band in question are Frightened Rabbit, anyone who knows me knows about this band and how much I adore them. I'm constantly listening to them and although part of my wants to keep them as 'my band', I feel as though I should share such brilliance with everyone else.

They formed in 2003, released their first album in 2006 and have released another two since, the indie band from Scotland have their forth album due out in February.

I can't even remember how I came about this band, I assume it was something to do with listening to Glasvegas that led me to them. In just over a year, they've had me listening to their tracks over 3000 times! I may seem slightly obsessed, but when a band like this comes about whose music means so much to you, can make you happy when it needs too, or sad when you want it too, you know they're something special.

I would honestly recommend this band to everyone, but particularly people who are into bands like Glasvegas, The Vaccines, and Mumford and Sons. They're touring the UK in February and I have already ordered my ticket for Portsmouth!

I'm in need of a bit of help from my followers, or anyone who comes across my blog!

As part of my uni course, one unit is looking at language and how it's changed.
The actual essay question is:
Where do we go from here?
Explore and analyse the evolution and future of the English language
I really want to write and include the world of blogging into it, just so it's a bit more interesting for me to write! That's where you guys come into it, if you could leave your name, age and blog url in a comment below and answer all, or at least some of the follow questions, then I will be beyond grateful!

1. What's your opinion on abbreviations 'omg, lol' being used in a non social-networking place? e.g magazines.
2. Do you think there is a certain time and place when abbreviations are acceptable?
3. How do you feel blogs should be written? Formal, informal/chatty?
4. If you have another blog, e.g tumblr, is you writing style different on that blog, than it is on blogspot?
5. How do you think language is evolving? Is it changing for the better?
6. Do you always/never use punctuation, whether it be texting/blogging/tweeting? Why?
7. Do you use slang? If so, is that in face-to-face conversation/texting/tweeting/blogging etc?

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help me out!

Just a very quick post about Simples Quick fix cleansing wipes.
I'm usually very lucky with my skin, the add spot appears but nothing major, however last week I had a massive break out! I went into Superdrug and literally just tried to find anything half decent that I could afford. I came across these wipes for just £2 and as I've used Simple products before I was praying these would be good as well! Turns out, they definitely are! I used them every night for about 4 days to take my make-up off and my spots have pretty much completely cleared up! So I would definitely recommend this product, whether it's to clear skin or just keep it clear.

Vintage baby

By complete luck I happened to see an event on Facebook for a vintage fair happening in my town, so I immediately text my friend and arranged to go. I love looking through all the clothes from different eras, it reminds me of going through my Nan's wardrobe as a child.
You do have to do a lot of searching to find things you want, but it's worth it!

I found so many things I wanted, particularly shorts, but considering I own enough already and can buy them anywhere and everywhere, I went for items that were a bit different. The only item that I bought straight away after seeing it was the pink top, because it was only £5, the other two I went away from to see if I could find anything else I wanted more, because they were a bit more expensive, but I really couldn't. Once I'd seen them I knew they had to be mine.

Once I get a bit more money, I'm going charity shop shopping to see if I can find any other gems.

Fallen leaves

I had to go into uni for just a few hours today and then I was a good student and went to the library after. I woke up  late today, so my outfit was pretty rushed, but I really liked it in the end. I don't mind this weather at the moment, wearing knitted jumpers is lovely and I love the fallen leaves of Autumn, I just don't want it to get any colder!
