Student Loan Spending

My student loan came through yesterday, so I thought I'd treat myself. I still set myself a budget of £50, because I knew if I wasn't careful that I would end up spending far too much!
H&M £14.99
I've had my eye on these for so long. They aren't something I'd usually go for, but they push me out of my comfort zone and I've been trying to experiment with my style recently.

Primark: £12
Saw this and instantly picked it up. It will be perfect for Autumn/Winter and the colour being a light pink is definitely me!

Primark: £6, £9
I was seriously in need of a bag to use on a night out so I didn't have to use my handbag and this polka dot shoulder bag will be perfect, it's so cute!
I've wanted a satchel bag for a while now and it was a choice between a green bag or a gold, so I went for gold because again, it isn't something I'd usually go for and metallics are in this season.

Total: £41.99
Below budget, so after clothes shopping I went and bought some food!

London Comfort

I haven't done an outfit post for what feels like ages, so today I decided I should.
I went on a trip to London today and with a 2 and a half hour journey each way, my outfit had to be comfortable! I went for jeans as they're a safe option and it was inevitable that it would rain while we were there. I layered a polo shirt under a khaki green jumper that had studded shoulders, accessorising with a studded cross necklace. I finished my outfit off with my grey converse, which at the end of the day wasn't my best idea! Sore feet!

Jeans - Primark / Polo Shirt - New Look / Jumper - Topshop /
 Necklace - Forever 21 / Shoes -  Converse

What did you get up to today?

Southampton welcome Stooshe

It always seems that everywhere I'm not, celebrities are about. However today, Stooshe made an appearance at my University in Southampton where they were involved in an interview, as well as performing three of their songs.

Stooshe are a band from South London, formed in May 2010 and signed in August 2011.
They are known for their amazing singing talent, quirky style and feisty attitude.
With a lot of fashion students in the room, there were obviously plenty of questions asked which related to fashion. We found out that they are massive fans of Topshop, H&M, River Island and particularly like the dogtooth trend that's come about recently, as well as Nike Blazers and Henry Holland's work.

(L-R) Courtney, Alex, Karis

Stooshe have come such a long way in such a short amount of time. They told us how just last year they performed at Wireless to a small crowd of people, now they are performing at Bestival to 12,000, with a MOBO nomination under their belts.

They girls are so down to earth, they seemed like just another three university students, except for perhaps the fact they weren't hungover!
They are so interested in the music that they aren't like your typical manufactured girl group. The turned down Simon Cowels label due to the fact they wanted to remain in control of their writing. From the beginning the girls have said they want to remain true to themselves and want to write about what they know and have experienced. Wishing to collaborate with Jay-Z and Kayne West you can see that they aren't a average pop band, they've got an edge that makes them so interesting.

The girls have such amazing voices that work so well together, they're so powerful and I really enjoyed their a cappella songs, their cover of TLC - Waterfalls was brilliant.

"Live you life and have fun while doing it"

Stooshe performing their single Black Heart.

Their album is set to be released on the 12th November 2012.

"Do what you want, when you want to and how you want to, just try not to offend people"

Style inspired

Although my style inspiration tend to come more so from "normal" people for lack of a better word, e.g blogspot, lookbook and tumblr, there are "celebrities" whose style I adore and who influence my style choices.

Taylor Momsen: I think Taylor is someone you either love or hate and personally, I love her, her music and her style. She is very much what I would refer to as girly grunge and she had a major influence on my style starting a year back. I love mixing up summer dresses with doc martens and leather jackets.

Victoria Beckham: I adore this woman and I love how classy she looks. She never looks bad! Always seen in her sky high heels and ladylike outfits, she is basically how I want to look when I'm her age. I love adding a classy look to my outfits, which I why I am so obsessed with blazers at the moment.

Fearne Cotton: Her style is so eclectic, she isn't afraid to try out new styles and mix and match patterns. Sometimes things don't work, sometimes they do and look amazing. She encouraged me to be more experimental with my look and not stick to one style.

Pixie Geldof and Alicia Douvall: These two are the ultimate modern grunge/punk fashion icons. Enough said.

What do you think of their style? Who are your style icons?

Pretty Please #8 Girly girl

This may well be my favourite pretty please list ever. I am in love with all of the items!
1. Baby Pink Leather Satchel - Zatchels 2. Accost Pin Stud Boots - Topshop 3. Loverdose by Diesel
4. Miso Cropped Blouse - Republic 5. Miso Stone Flower Bracelet - Republic 6. Blazer - H&M

These are now all bookmarked on my laptop just waiting to be purchased! I will always love pastel pink, it's such a lovely feminine colour, so no surprises that 3/6 of the items are pink.
1. I was looking at satchels in Selfridges not long back and I want one so much!
2. I've never been interested in boots of this style before, but the thought of wearing them throughout Autumn with think black tights made me decide I actually need them.
3. I love the smell and I love the bottle design.
4. The blouse is really cute and would look lovely with high-waisted shorts.
5. I love bracelets, they're the only jewellery I wear regularly and this flower bracelet would go great with my watch.
6. As mentions in a previous post, I love blazers and I need this one!

MAC - Pink Nouveau

Yesterday, I went to see my friends as I'm going to University, so it's be the last time that we would be able to see each other. I wasn't expecting it, but my friend Ciara bought me a MAC lipstick! It was so sweet, because I always go on about wanting one. I've never used MAC lipstick before, but the reviews I've seen have always been positive.
 Pink Nouveau

I absolutely adore the colour, it's like the perfect pink! Not too pale, nor too bright. It smells lovely and the application is great. It lasted over six hours before I reapplied it.

I was going to buy myself this when I got my student loan, but now I've already got it, I need to get a new colour!
Any recommendations?

WIP #8: Last week in pictures in Birmingham

How much is my face worth?

As I'm currently getting  ready to go out shopping with my friend for the day, I thought I'd do a 'how much is my face worth' post while all my make-up is out, as it would be interesting to see how much my make-up costs me.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation - £6.99

Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer - £4.49
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - £3.99

Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner - £2.99

Rimmel Scandaleyes Show Off Mascara - £4.99

MUA Bronzer - £1

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil - £2.99

Elf Bronzing Brush - £1.50

Technic Eyelash Glue - £2

Avon Glazewear Duo Reflect - £6

Total: £36.99
Totally not surprised, I'm not one for spending megabucks on make-up, as for one, I can't afford to and I think I can get a similar effect of high-end products, with cheaper products.

Boyfriend Tag

I saw this on someone's blog and thought it would be interesting to do and see how much my boyfriend actually knows about me.

Me and Kyle have been together for 1 year and 9 months, but considering it took him quite a while to even remember my birthday, I'm curious as to how many of these he will get right.

She's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
Sex and the City - Probably

What's one food she doesn't like?
Black pudding - Urgh, can you even count it as food?

You go out to a bar, what kind of drink does she order?
Vodka Lemonade - One of the few nice alcoholic drinks!

What size shoe does she wear?
Four? - Try 6

If she was collecting anything, what would it be?
Nail Varnish - I'd have more if only I could afford them

What is her favourite type of sandwich?
Ham and cucumber- Close, chicken and cucumber

What would this person eat everyday if she could?
sandwiches or toast - Yeah, I'm a lazy cook

What is her favourite cereal?
Doesn't really like cereal, erm coco pops? - Yeah. pretty much

What's her favourite music?
Frightened Rabbit/Glasvegas - Knew he'd get that right

What's her favourite sports team?
Ermmmm, Man Utd, Team GB, Roscommon? - Ermmm, Roscommon..why team gb?

What's her eye colour?
Bluey green - Personally, I'd just say blue

Who's her best friend?
Ciara - I have three, but Ciara is one of them

What is something you do that she wishes you didn't?
Fart and burp in her presence - Aren't I lucky?

What's her heritage/Where's she from?
Ireland - Obviously correct.

You bake her a cake for her birthday, what kind of cake?
A big pink one - I'd be happy with that

Did she play any sports?
Does Irish dancing count? - Well, if not, it's the closest to sport I've done.

What could she spend hours doing?
Sitting on Tumblr! Or her hair and make-up - Yes, yes and yes.
What is one unique talent she has?
Moving her eyebrows, nose and ears - That's three, but yes.

He did better than I thought! :)
I tag all my followers and you can even do this with your friends!

Wang Wannabe

Alexander Wang's studded bags have been and still are really popular, from Kristin Cavallari, to Mary- Kate Olsen being seen with them, those who can afford them, have them.
With studs set to remain in style throughout autumn, these bags are perfect, it's just a shame about the £500+ price tag that goes along with them!

I lusted over these bags for so long and headed to ebay to see if I could find a nice bag in a similar style and luckily for me, I found one! There are actually a lot of these bags online, so if you're interested in having one then I'd definitely recommend ebay. This one cost me only £14! I couldn't believe it. I bought it to use at University, I did worry about it being too small, but it is literally the perfect size!
It comes with a shoulder strap, an inside pocket, a pocket on either size of the outer bag and plenty of room inside!

I know some people are a bit iffy about buying 'fakes', so would you only buy the real deal,
or do you not see a problem with getting the same look, but for a fraction of the price?

A/W 2012

What I'm going to wear through Autumn and Winter is something I've been thinking about a lot lately and after browsing the shops and online, I've picked up on some of the key trends for the season, these three are definitely my favourite!

 English Heritage
This look is perfect for Autumn as it's so traditional and cosy. I've noticed a increase in the amount of tweed blazers around at the moment and I have wanted one for so long! If you read my blog much, you'll know that I am an avid wearer of blazers and this style would be perfect for Autumn! I'll definitely be buying one as soon as I can.

Metallic Jeans
This isn't a trend I liked immediately, but after seeing pair after pair in high-street stores, I've started to really like them! They're something different from the usual pair of jeans. Bold jeans and trousers are definitely on trend this season and I need to get my hands on a pair!

Goth Glamour
This trend is right up my street. Mixing black leather and lace is like a dream come true for me! I've always had a Gothic influence in my style ever since I went through a phase when I was about 14...
I've already got my leather jacket and shorts at the ready, now just to pick up a velvet skirt maybe?

What will you be wearing through A/W?

No shopping, just Starbucks

As I was bored of sitting in the house when the weather was nice, I dragged Kyle to the shopping centre by his house. I was going to buy things for uni, but couldn't really be bothered, so we just browsed the shops and stopped for a Starbucks.

 I need all of it.

I wore my new shirt, which I bought from a shop via eBay and I love it, it's so easy to wear!
My jeans  from Primark and my studded cross necklace from Forever21.

Baby you don't have to live your life in fear

I've been sorting out things for uni for the last week, so I'm going to make a post about all of that, but that will probably be sometime next week just before I go. There are actually a fair few things I want to blog about, it's just having the time to do it that's the issue!

Saying that, I managed to spare a few hours on Monday evening to spend with two of my friends. We just stayed in my garden all evening, chatting and having a drink or two...

I went for a summery dress and added accessories to give it a bit of an edge.
My Docs and Studded jacket toughened the outfit up and studs are everywhere at the moment!
